Transparent Hokún?

Hokún, by David Allan Designs (DAD)

With David's permission I uploaded his Hokún designs to Shapeways and ordered sample prints in Transparent Acrylic. It wasn't cheap, but neither was it unreasonably expensive either. Especially considering the subject! This is, I suspect, the only way we are going to get reasonable representations of this crystalline alien race.

There was a slight hiccup, with the arm/weapon sprue getting a warning flag but I placed the order anyway. The next step is that a Shapeways technician will review the files before printing and - if they pass that screening - then they will be printed and shipped. For this trial run I have only ordered one of each. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated as to the progress and will post pictures of the results, if successful. :-)

Princess Vrísa Vishétru of Saá Allaqi

HA-1 Princess Vrísa Vishétru of Saá Allaqi

Painted by Nadya 'Hope River'

These pictures were sent by a customer who recently asked a professional painter to "work her magic" on our Princess Vrísa figure. The Princess is a player character from Professor Barker's own campaign and is based upon artwork drawn by the player herself: Kathy Marshall.

The painter is Nadya 'Hope River', from Russia. This is her "Display Quality" work and it shows. Note the "living blade"! I love the base also (did you spot the viper yet?) - perfect for display! Myself I am always torn between having something superb for the display cabinet and something I can push around on the table. Of course, for the latter, one doesn't need to pull out all the stops as Nadya has here. :-)

Nadya's blog can be found HERE.

The figure itself is sculpted by John Winter (of TinMan Miniatures fame) and can be found in the Heroes of the Age section of the Tékumel Club.

The Legion of the Lord of Red Devastation!

The Red D's

The Lady Deq Dimani

All sculpted by John Winter,

The basic trooper poses are 99% done for the Legion of the Lord of Red Devastation - or as I like to call them, the "Red D's".

I have sent this image off to the Tekumel Foundation for approval.

Also shown is the Lady Deq Dimani, nearing completion. She is a general in the Yan Koryani order of battle, leading two Gureks from her Island of Vridu.

Still to come: the Warrior-Priests of Vimuhla, who act as officers for the Red D's, and the legion's Kerdu: the General Karin Missum.

The Spice Must Flow!

...or, more importantly, the mail must!

Last week Canada Post and the Union reached at least a temporary settlement (I believe 1 year) while management studies why it pays its female workers less than the males. (Rural deliveries are paid at a lower rate than urban, and are predominately female, so a bit of spin there but then I am generally opposed to Canada Post's management so there you go.) The bottom line is the mail is flowing again without any likely disruptions for hopefully the next year at least. Yay!

Unknown Artist!

Does anyone know this artist?

I don't recall ever seeing this art before and I think it's great! But how old is it? Who is the artist, and does he have any more Tekumel art?!
